Who are TextWorkshops for?
If you write text for visitors, TextWorkshops are for you, whether you’re an interpreter, curator, educator, exhibition developer, researcher, editor or designer. We welcome participants from science museums and centres, art museums and galleries, heritage centres, local and national museums and visitor attractions.
During an interactive and fast-paced programme, you will write and discuss text, learn new interpretation skills, gain individual feedback and participate in group exercises.
A day-long programme with TextWorkshops typically includes:
- Introduction: What Am I Doing Here?
- Session 1: Messages - Getting them straight, getting them right
- Session 2: Panels - Information or inspiration?
- Session 3: Ten Top Text-Writing Tips
- Session 4: Audiences - Who are you writing for?
- Session 5: Labels - Bringing objects to life
- Conclusion: Make it Happen!
